Sometimes called a pelvic sling, the transvaginal mesh implant is designed to help woman with pelvic and bladder prolapse. It is also made to help reinforce the walls of the vagina. In July 2011, the FDA had announced that those women who have had this procedure and used the sling are at a greater risk for developing mesh complications than a woman who choose other treatment. Because the manufacturers failed to warn doctors and patients of this risk, you may be eligible to file a claim against them.

I had a hysterectomy performed at River Oaks by Dr. Brooks Griffin in July of 1997. He asked me about bladder problems and said there was a new mesh that he could wrap my bladder in to help with this problem. For many, many years I have experiences a burning, tugging feeling inside during intercourse, rolling over in bed, or lifting heavy objects. I have not spoken to anyone about it other than my husband because I wan’t sure what was causing it. I always wondered about the mesh.
